The Four Provinces in INDIA


1. INE :

   In India East Province stupendous contribution of the SVD’s for the growth and development of the tribals has born good results. The five parishes have developed in to 55; parishes each with 5 to 25 sub stations speak of the stupendous contribution of the SVD’s for the growth and development of the tribals. Which has spred to the states of Orissa, Bihar, Jarkand,

Today we have Bp. Raphael Cheenath for the dioceses of Cuttack-Bhubaneshwar, in Rourkela- Bp.Alphonse Bilung and in Sambalpur Bp. Lucas Kerketta,  shows  the growth of church in Orissa.


 

2. INC: India Central

 The work that had began with hand full missionaries in Indoor and the Nimar Mission today has spread to the dioceses of Indore, Khandwa, frontier missions of the diocese of Baroda, Delhi, Dibrugarh, Tezpur and Udaipur. Major parishes in Indore and Khandwa speak the saga of hard work, pain and suffering the missionary desert of hostile M.P. 

Three SVD bishops, Bp. George Anathil Indoor, Bp. Leo Cornelio, Khandwa and Bp. Chacko at  newly began Diocese of Jhabua, Stand as monuments of dynamism and trust in the master.


3.INH: India Hyderabad

Today we have all the reasons to rejoice and thank God to all who have labored and collaborated with the mission of AP.  The work began as late as 1972 with four pioneering missionaries Frs. Bernard Mundapulam, George Muthanatt, Thomas Akkara, Joseph Puthumana in Medak of Hyderbad diocese and Adanki in Guntur Diocese. Unapproachable Muslim State of Hyderabad in previous century has become mother of many possibilities. After 30 years there are more than 60 SVD’s working in the vineyard of the Lord entrusted to their care at various challenging and difficult centers in the dioceses of Hyderbad, Guntur, Warngal,  Nalgonda and Khamam.


4. INM:  

India Mumbai Province came in to existence in the year 2001. The members of this Province work in the four states of Maharastra, Karnataka, Goa and Kerala Their services are available to the dioceses of Mumbai, Vasai, Mysore, Goa, Mangalore, Today the province consists of 79 finally professed members, 15 in temporary vows, and 67 candidates. Our members are at present living and working in 15 communities who hail from different states of India Union showing an example of unity in diversity.
